Text Messages Stop Working After Swapping your iPhone for a Windows Phone 7

If you follow me on twitter (or friend me on FaceBook) you are well aware that on Monday of this week, I traded up my iPhone 3gs for a highly anticipated Samsung Focus Windows Phone 7. I ran into one gotcha with doing so. The day I traded up, text messages stopped working both to and from my phone. It turns out the iPhone had a “special” iPhone texting plan that the system turns off when they activate your new Windows Phone. I confirmed tonight that at least two other people I know experienced the same issue. Luckily the fix is as easy as waiting on hold with AT&T customer service for 5 minutes and having them add text messaging back to your plan.  Just a little tidbit if you’re an iPhone user looking to purchase a Windows Phone 7.
