I have to say this year’s Lync Conference seems to have been a huge success! Lots of sessions, lots of networking, and lots of education on the present and future of Lync. I personally wasn’t able to attend a lot of sessions due to customer meetings, booth duty, and my own presentation, but I did hear great things about several of them. Like many of you, I will be downloading the recordings from MyLync to watch later. Below are a few highlights from the conference.
The keynote presentation included some great demos including fully featured Lync clients on various multiple devices including Android, IOS, and Windows. As expected Skype video federation was shown as well. I’m personally looking forward to Lync to Skype video!
Polycom took the lid off of a new cascading feature for Real Presence Platform that allows an RMX/DMA to cascade with the Lync MCU. This allows traditional, non-Lync native, video endpoints to participate in a Lync Server call and receive the full SVC stream. More to come on that. A full demo was done during mine and Adam Jacob’s session. When the link for the recording goes public I will provide it here.
I met tons of new people and got the opportunity to connect with many that I haven’t seen since last year’s Lync Conference. Overall I think the conference was a smashing success and look forward to Lync Conference 2015!
